Skype for Linux 1.3x Official Release

I’ve been using Skype on my Win PC for well over a year. It’s great for communicating with friends and business associates, for free, no long distance charges as long as the other party has it installed on their computer too. So now they’ve improved and released their Linux version. Coincidence - I was playing around with a Linux laptop at a local computer store a few days ago and wondered how compatible it would be with the VOIP and IM apps I regularly use. Here’s a snip from the official announcement: We have finally put up the latest and the greatest and public and 1.3. Named Skype for Linux 1.3.0.53 it sports an impressive change log with a lot of visual, usability and sound quality improvements. There are still some audio problems (for some users, especially those on Ubuntu 6.06), and we will try to address them in further versions. So, all you penguin hugging Skype junkies, can download Skype for Linux here.
